Vice President of Outpatient Behavioral Health Services

Develops, implements, and evaluates programs and objectives for Behavioral Health. Ensures optimal delivery of care and services in an environment that promotes the organizational model, professional development, and financial viability. Oversees the development of Outpatient Behavioral Health on a national scale for Boys Town programs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Oversees the staff and activities of Clinical Services, Behavioral Pediatric Clinic, and the Assessment Center; provides training for direct care staff in a group format including clinic rounds.

  • Works with Youth Care to provide behavioral health services to children and families in Boys Town programs.

  • Provides direct clinical consultation to the home campus and to national site programs including consultation on problematic admissions, at-risk youth, and other specialized cases.

  • Collaborates with internal departments to design and share clinical expertise to Youth Services, Boys Town National Hotline, education services, etc.

  • Works as part of the Youth Care leadership team; brings Behavioral Health input and expertise to programmatic discussions and decisions.

  • Participates in strategy development and Youth Care program guidance.

  • Translates the clinical program and business model out for affiliate sites to deliver similar programs.

  • Responsible for the oversight and management of the affiliate site Behavioral Health Clinics.

  • Monitors the administration and use of diagnostic and clinical intervention training and diagnostic instruments at the home campus and at affiliate site clinics.

  • Provides professional supervision and training for the on-site clinical interns to meet the requirements of both the State of Nebraska and the American Psychological Association.

  • Trains and develops interns and post-docs with consideration for them assuming roles within behavioral health clinics nationwide.

  • Markets the Behavioral Pediatric Clinic to a variety of internal and external referral sources.

  • Works to foster a mutually beneficial partnership with BTNRH pediatrics and medical specialty services.

  • Demonstrates a personal commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, fostering a workplace that values diverse perspectives and embraces differences.

  • Engages with Human Resources in the areas such as recruiting, retention and employee engagement in the Behavioral Health arena.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources in a non-profit organization. Knowledge of organizational strategies and ability to apply those strategies in practice.

  • Knowledge of behavioral health issues and strategic, effective solutions.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to Behavioral Health and Youth Services.

  • High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills. Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization and with external contacts in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.

  • Ability to build and sustain successful, professional relationships.

  • Ability to translate complex data into understandable conclusions and recommendations.

  • Ability to successfully lead a team of associates.

  • Ability to quickly make decisions in sensitive and sometimes critical areas and present decisions to appropriate individuals.

  • Ability to adapt responses to situations while maintaining procedural and regulatory integrity.

  • Compatibility with Boys Towns cognitive-behavioral model of care.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ph.D. in Psychology required.

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience including post-doctoral analytical treatment of serious child behavior problems, research and evaluation, behavioral pediatrics, and leadership experience in an outpatient clinic required.

  • Licensed and certified as a clinical psychologist in the state of Nebraska and listed as a provider in the National Register of Health Care Providers required.
