POSITION
Child Care Teacher, Child Development Center, 40hrs/week, float

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assumes primary care for an assigned group of children to include providing basic care of children, preparing for activities and recording and sharing childâ??s progress.
• Obtains educational materials required to implement the daily activity.
• Observes and records significant individual and group behavior.
• Maintains confidentiality of records and work information.
• Adheres to facility and departmental policies and procedures when responding to routine and non-routine work demands.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate teaching methods and practices to provide for activities for and interactions with assigned children.
• Knowledge of the stages of development and basic childcare practices.
• Communicates the daily activities of children to parents.
• Communicates with facility personnel, coworkers, and parents.
• Assists with supervision of students and volunteers assigned to assist with activities.
• Participates in parent/teacher conferences.
• Knowledge of behavior modification techniques.

  EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Bachelorâ??s or Associateâ??s degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education preferred.
• Prior experience providing child care or working in a child care environment desired.
• Incumbent must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have valid Nebraska driverâ??s license and proof of good driving record.
• CPR for Health Care Provider/CPR for Professional Rescuer and first aid required_._
