RN – Diabetes Health and Wellness Nurse Educator

28 hrs/wk; 7 hr shifts, 4 days/wk. The RN Diabetic Health and Wellness Educator provide comprehensive education and support to patients with diabetes and related health conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role delivers individualized and group instruction on self-management skills, including glucose monitoring, medication use, nutrition, and lifestyle modification. The educator collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate diabetic programs, ensure continuity of care, and support quality improvement efforts. Additional responsibilities include documenting education, maintaining compliance with standards, serving as a resource for staff and families, and promoting patient empowerment to improve health outcomes. A Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Nebraska, with current knowledge and experience in diabetes care, is preferred. A BSN is desirable, along with recent hands-on experience providing diabetes education. Candidates who hold a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credential- or who are willing to obtain certification within two years of hire are strongly preferred. Experience with insulin pump management and a solid understanding of adult learning principles will further support success in this role.
