Immediate Supervisor: Gifford Farm Coordinator
Staff Supervised: 4-8 Interns
Essential Requirements:
The position of Intern Coordinator requires a person who has experience working with high school students and is passionate about providing a meaningful and educational experience in an outdoor farm setting. The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, and committed to working as part of a team.
Previous experience working with high school students, preferably in an educational or agricultural setting.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with interns, staff, and program participants.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate schedules.
Regular and dependable in-person attendance is required and is considered a condition of employment.
Successfully pass required background checks.
Essential Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate the activities of 4-8 interns, ensuring that they assist with farm chores and support summer camp activities.
Collaborate with the Summer Camp Coordinator and Animal Feed Coordinator to create a daily schedule for interns that is educational, engaging, and rewarding.
Provide leadership and support to interns, ensuring they receive valuable learning experiences and guidance throughout their internship.
Assist with the coordination and execution of summer camp activities, including animal care and farm operations.
Monitor the performance of interns and provide constructive feedback to help them grow in their roles.
Ensure that interns adhere to safety protocols and maintain a positive, productive environment on the farm.
Act as a resource for interns, answering questions and helping resolve any challenges that arise during their internships.
Communicate regularly with the Summer Camp Coordinator and Animal Feed Coordinator to ensure that all aspects of the daily schedule are coordinated effectively.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Gifford Farm Coordinator.
