Description Leidos is seeking a
Lead Systems Architect to drive large-scale migration and operational support for a prominent DOD contract. Join our I3TS program, which provides comprehensive IT support aimed at consolidating, modernizing, and continuously innovating IT service delivery for DTRA's Information Management & Technology Directorate (ITD) and its mission partners.
This is a pivotal technical leadership role responsible for administering, maintaining, and supporting critical systems 24/7 for internal DTRA users and external partners on NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS. Your expertise will support various infrastructures, including servers, hosting environments, networks, and mission operations.
Primary Responsibilities - Develop innovative technical solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Design comprehensive systems and oversee their implementation to satisfy stakeholder requirements.
- Provide insightful recommendations and create solution prototypes.
- Participate in technology selection and assess environmental constraints.
- Craft detailed roadmaps for effective solution implementation.
- Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders for improved collaboration.
- Work closely with process owners and technical leads to refine designs and processes.
- Utilize systems engineering principles for efficient solution design and implementation.
- Define processes and specifications for compatibility of hardware and software.
- Assist in developing and maintaining thorough systems engineering documentation.
- Lead development of standard business process maps.
- Monitor technical variances and facilitate issue resolution during project delivery.
- Quickly adapt to client environments and align with their processes.
- Create and execute user acceptance strategies for successful deployment.
- Provide exceptional problem-solving and leadership throughout project lifecycles.
Basic Qualifications - Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI.
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 10+ years of experience; or 8+ years with a related master's degree.
- Security+ certification or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT II certification within 14 days of start date.
- Proven experience leading solution design and architecture for complex cloud systems.
- Strong experience in developing data-driven operation capabilities within the DoD environment.
- Proficient in process mapping techniques.
- 4+ years of systems engineering experience in relevant documentation practices.
- Familiarity with the Linux operating system.
- Knowledge of web services APIs, including REST.
- Experience in managing project risks and dependencies.
- Capable of estimating project resources and timelines effectively.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, highly technical team environment.
- Familiarity with project management tools like JIRA, Xray, Confluence, and Git.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with AWS GovCloud and relevant security policies.
- Experience in deploying systems architecture within the DoD ecosystem.
- Knowledge of DevOps/DevSecOps methodologies, including CI/CD practices.
- Experience with cloud-based services and big data applications.
- Interest in building AI capabilities to enhance operations.
- Understanding of containerization and Kubernetes deployment.
- Certification in ITIL or a solid understanding of ITIL principles.
- AWS cloud certifications are a plus.
- Experience managing geographically dispersed teams.
