Responsibilities

The Permanent Accountant will be responsible for:

1. Preparing accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department.
2. Conducting regular ledger maintenance.
3. Reviewing all inter-company transactions and generating invoices as necessary.
4. Reconciling balance sheet accounts and managing WIP adjustments.
5. Analyzing financial reports for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the CFO's attention.
6. Reviewing and improving financial and tax strategies for the company.
7. Assisting with financial and tax audits.
8. Documenting and monitoring internal controls in support of auditing team.
9. Coordinating more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments.
10. Utilizing accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in the construction industry.
4. In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Experience with WIP adjustments and financial analysis.
6. Strong knowledge of financial statements preparation and review.
7. Proficiency with accounting software, MS Excel, and other relevant applications.
8. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
9. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
10. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
11. High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
