Key Responsibilities: - Lead development and maintenance of a custom Android application used in-store by employees.
- Work across the stack, contributing to front-end Android development (70%) and API/database development (30%).
- Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of mobile applications.
- Collaborate closely with internal business stakeholders to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and iterate on solutions.
- Maintain and enhance secure features like authentication, session timeouts, and device lock-down functionality.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to uphold code quality.
- Support the evolution of the tech stack (e.g., future transition toward React, though not currently in use).
Required Qualifications: - 5-8+ years of professional experience (large/enterprise environment experience) in Android development and full stack development.
- Proficiency in Java, Android SDK, and Android Studio.
- Solid experience with Java EE, Spring Framework, JPA, Hibernate, JBoss, and Tomcat.
- Backend development skills with Oracle and other relational databases.
- Experience integrating and developing RESTful APIs.
- Strong UI/UX design experience for mobile interfaces.
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Strong debugging, testing, and performance optimization skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with internal teams.
Nice to Have (Not Required): - Exposure to React or an interest in transitioning to modern front-end frameworks.
- Experience in enterprise retail environments or working with in-store technology.
Additional: - This position must be filled by a local candidate due to the need for regular onsite collaboration.
- We are looking for someone who thrives in a high-touch, high-impact environment where business alignment is key.
